Description
Midgard Dragon (Maquette)
Rooted deep in ancient Norse mythology, the 1/24th scale maquette of my Midgard Serpent Dragon, inspired by both Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent of Viking legend and the folk tales of the Lambton Wyrm, from my home county of Durham, in the North East of England, this is a subject that I have yearned to sculpt since first reading those myths and legends as a young child. And at last I have partially realised that ambition – I hope you enjoy viewing the result. Perhaps one day I will get to sculpt the full size serpent, in all his fearsome magnificence, coiled by the shore of some northern lake, river, or seashore!
